It was 175 years ago when Darwin had his basic theory of natural selection (1838), yet it took over twenty years before it was published as On the Origin of Species on 24 November 1859. Darwin received his first notable award, the Royal Medal 160 years ago (1853), also known as The Queen's Medal, which is a silver medal awarded each year for "the most important contributions to the advancement of natural knowledge" and for "distinguished contributions in the applied sciences" made within the Commonwealth of Nations.
This Presentation is Proudly Sponsored by the Woodnesborough WI for the Community.
